Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, UMP has just launched a double PhD programme, a collaboration between the university and University of Nice Sophia Antipolis (UNS).
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by the two institutions of higher learning would enable a joint supervision or co-tutelle programme between two universities.
This programme offers several benefits to candidate/student such as access to complementary facilities and resources between two universities, exposure to two cultural approaches to research, international student mobility, and provide better networking opportunities for future job prospects.
The MoU was signed by the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Professor Dato’ Dr. Daing Nasir Ibrahim, while the UNS was represented by Professor Jean-Christophe Martin.
In his speech, Dato’ Dr Daing Nasir Ibrahim said the MoU was one of the internationalisation activities, an important agenda included in UMP’s Strategic Plan for 2011-2015
The signing ceremony was witnessed by the Director of Malaysia France University Centre (Malaysia), Professor Datuk Seri Dr. Md Zabid Abdul Rashid cum the President of UniRazak, the Director of Malaysia France University Centre (France), Dr. Maxime Feraille, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Professor Dato’ Dr. Rosli Mohd Yunus, and the Dean of Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Associate Professor Dr. Kamarul Hawari Ghazali.
